Can't Access UEFI Settings After Deleting EFI/Microsoft Folder

I need some urgent help with an issue I'm facing. I recently deleted the EFI/Microsoft folder from my system's EFI partition because I no longer use Windows and wanted to remove it from the bootloader. After doing this, I encountered a significant problem.

Now, when I power on my computer, GRUB loads, and I can boot into Linux without any issues. However, I cannot access the UEFI firmware settings anymore. Pressing F2 or trying to use the "UEFI Firmware Settings" option from within GRUB just results in a black screen with the Acer logo. I cannot get into the BIOS/UEFI settings at all.

Additional Information:

  • I did not make a backup of the EFI/Microsoft folder before deleting it.
  • The BIOS/UEFI settings should be stored on the motherboard, so I'm not sure why deleting the EFI/Microsoft folder has caused this issue.
  • i also triedsystemctl reboot --firmware-setup
  • My laptop came with Windows pre-installed
