i have an nitro 5 an515-55 and my charger is dead

the charger is 19.5v == 6.92amp

135w , positive polarity , 120~240v = 1.9a

the only alternatives i can find in the market that are similar

have 19.5v == 7.1a

and 120~240v = 2.3a

so my question is can i buy and use this charger safely ? Even the the amps are higher than my factory one?

keep in my that I can't order one from acer

    What is more important than the Amps and corresponding Watt (135-W is recommended) is the pin size of the DC plug: 5.5mm x 1.7mm. I would go for the 7.1 Amp-135-W adapter if the pin size is as above, don't worry about the 0.9 Amp difference with the original adapter:

    The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 came with 3 different charger adapter of the following that is specefied by Acer in this laptops service guide:

    1. 135W 19.5V • Input current will be less than 2.1Amps at input voltage 90Vac /47Hz and maximum load condition
    2. 180W 19.5V Max 2.5A • 90Vac / full load, Maximum 2.5A • 180Vac / full load, Maximum 1.25A
    3. Or the highest listed AC Adapter in the Acer AN515-55 laptops SG which is a 230W: • Input current will be less than 3.2Amps at input voltage 90Vac /47Hz and maximum load condition.

    Acer only lists the 135W 2.1Amps and the 180W max 2.5Amps they don't have an Acer part number for the 230W-3.2A adapter, use and upgrade to the higher 180W max 2.5Amps spec adapter that I've highlighted below, as its a more versatile and more game efficient charger adapter for your Nitro 5 AN515-55 laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Check the size of the plug pin that should be 5.5mm x 1.7mm, the power and voltage are OK (135-Watt) if there is no plug pin description available and you already have this adapter you can try to insert the plug in the DC socket, fit must be tight and you can hear a click when fully inserted. Personally, I don't like these angled plugs as they move constantly when charging (not making ideal contact), the straight type of plug is better.

    All the above oem Acer oart numbers for the AN515-55 adapters are available on eBay or Amazon. The 180W adapter that you have should work fine.
