Open Chasis Error in all-in-one computer Model: VZ4660G-I5850. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I work at a library and a few of our Acer all in one computer keep getting an "open chasis" error with options to press F1 to continue. I've changed the bios setting as recommend to turn the alert off to bypass it and that only works for a while then the black screen with the alert and text eventually returns. Does anyone have a solution for this?

This seems to be outdated information. I add my serial, it opens the the section for the computer and has drivers and manual, but there is no "Patch" tab or chasis intrusion tool. Do you have more information for the tool?

What computer do you have? There are a lot of different All in One models… Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx.

It could easily be a hardware issue with that switch. Here is the relevant portion of the SG:

You could check to see if the switch is normally open or normally closed, then just rewire it to always report the case closed to fully bypass the hardware. Anything that flexes the case could cause the switch to toggle… If the switch is what I typically see (Common, NC, NO on the three pins) then the wiring shown is normally closed, so just unplugging it from the MB would have it show open, or as if the switch were depressed by the case.

I have opened the PC and there is only the speaker where the switch is indicated in the image that was attached in this thread. We have more of this same PC doing the F1 issue. Does anyone have any other ideas or am I missing something?
