Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 overheating, but was not with the same task a month ago.

So, I bought a video game on Steam called Derail Valley about a month ago. I had to run my CPU fan at the fastest it would go, and that gave me an average temperature of about 186 degrees Fahrenheit, occasionally spiking up to 195. However, recently, even with the CPU fan at max speed, the CPU stays at 197 degrees (92 Celsius.), the max it goes. Meanwhile, on "auto" fan mode, the GPU stays at maybe a maximum of 168 or 172 degrees.

I knew this was an issue, do first I tried to first set the maximum processor power to 95%, but that didn't work, so I set it all the way down to 75%! And it still isn't doing anything!

When the first thing didn't work, I bought a cooling pad by the brand Havit. It seemed to work for a little while, but just like the first thing I did, It seemingly stopped doing anything after a while.

I then took off the back cover of my computer, and carefully brushed the dust out of my computer with an old (but still clean) toothbrush. I got all the dust out, but it still isn't doing anything. I've heard that you need compressed air to clean it out, but I am unsure of how to use it, and if it can break my computer.

I've also heard that the thermal paste that comes with these computers isn't very good either, so do I need new thermal paste? I am scared to break the computer, but If I do need it, is there somewhere I can get it applied? Maybe the Geek Squad at Best Buy could help me out.

The CPU temperatures are 197 degrees, and the GPU is 168 or 172, I don't remember. Are these temperatures normal, and is there anything I can do about them? I would like to play Derail Valley again, I find it really fun :)

On the otherhand, if you send your laptop to service centre it eliminate the risk of damaging laptop.

I know how to open the computer and everything, though I'm not very confident in that I can safely remove the processor or something to repaste it. Is there a place where I could give them thermal paste I bought and then they repaste it with that thermal paste?

hello I just bought my. An515-58 and it has overheated several times like 92 degrees and more, I wandered if in your case charging thermal paste made any difference?

Overheating can be caused by poor ventilation, dust buildup, or failing cooling fans. Prevention: Ensure that your computer is well-ventilated, regularly clean the dust from your components, and check that all cooling fans are functioning correctly. To help reduce the temperature, you can place the Laptop on a hard, flat surface, clean the air vents and fans, adjust power settings, use a cooling pad, or turn off the Laptop when not in use. If necessary, monitoring the temperature and consulting a professional is also recommended.

Get a powerful 5-fan cooling pad the size of your laptop and reduce the Max. Processor Power state to 95% when on power.

Also use Balanced Power Plan instead of Maximum Performance Power Plan. Up to 95°C. under heavy load no issues, the CPU can sustain 100°C.Disable NVIDIA/AMD Dedicated graphics card for a while and test your temps. Also boot in safe mode and open task manager with GPU enabled and see if you can check the temperature. If its hot, then graphics is the issue. Undervolting means to decrease power draw for better cooling and higher clocks of the cpu and can be done using Throttle stop.
