CB382CUR allowing different wide modes than "Full" only when using PiP/PbP

Very happy with the monitor per se, but there's something that keeps bothering me:

Every now and then I connect devices that don't have ultrawide resolutions. Those resolutions (like 1920x1080 or even 1280x1024) will then stretch out to fill the entire monitor. This is not nice.

In the OSD menu under "System" there is the option "Wide mode" but it is disabled and set to "Full". Only when I activate PiP/PbP mode, I can then set the wide mode to "1:1", "21:9" or "Aspect". However, this makes little to no sense. In PiP mode, there will always be the secondary source overlaying the then fine looking primary source - or when in PbP mode, I can set this in the respective submenu.

The solution for 16:10 or 4:3 resolutions for now has been for me to activate PbP mode and leaving the secondary source unused. That way I can at least select "Aspect" in the PiP menu.

So, the question is: is there a way to set the wide mode outside of PiP/PbP mode? That would make a lot of sense!
Thank you!
