I got some advice a few weeks ago - Thank you! This is a follow-up because the suggestions didn't work.
The community's advice was to get a more powerful USB-C charger, which I did. However, the laptop still will not charge via USB C - It won't even register that a PD USB is inserted.
Previous discussion - https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/708976/nitro-515-56-cant-charge-via-usb-c-is-it-compatible
Acer support has confirmed that the model should charge via USB C but will not say how to allow the charging. They say a 90+w USB-C charger should do it.
I now have a 140w USB-C charging feed, with a 200W cable, which is a higher rating than the original charger but the laptop doesn't even notice when it plugs in.
** Does anyone know of a computer or bios setting that allows USB charging?
Model details below:
MS Windows 11 System Information says:
- System model is Nitro 515-56
- System Name: LAPTOP-PMDDM6J8
Label on the back says :
- Model N20C1
- AN515-56-58H8
Drivers up to date
Thunderbolt controller says Thunderbolt 4
There is a Thunderbolt Lightning icon next to the USB C port
There is a settings option to post a warning if USB charging isn't sufficient but I don't get that message.
My other laptop and Chromebook both charge from the options that I have.
