hi I have an acer nitro 5 and it won’t turn on. It shows no power even if I charge it but when I tap the power button the light will turn on but the laptop won’t open. Can someone guide me on how can I fix this?

Hi, depending on the battery condition (when was it last replaced?) it could be a bad contact with the power button, or the laptop needs to be reset. If the battery is more than 5 years old buy a new battery online and replace that with the old one. If you think the battery is still good you can open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery, locate the round CMOS module withe the 2 black and red twisted wires and take the coin battery out, try to connect (short) the +/- contacts inside the CMOS module with a bended paperclip or short piece of electric wire for a few seconds (the - contact is at the bottom and the + contact is on the side inside the CMOS module) and put the coin battery back in the CMOS module with the + sign facing up, that will reset the CMOS/BIOS. Check if the RAM modules are firmly seated/secured, replace the RAM modules if you have a spare SODIMM and hold down the power button for 10 seconds to discharge any static buildup on the motherboard. Reconnect the battery, close the back of the laptop and plug in the adapter, the blue power LED and amber battery LED should turn on. Try to boot.
