Max ram memory for Acer Aspire LITE AL14-51M-507C?

I just bought an acer aspire lite al14-51m-507c. it came with 16gb ram memory installed. the ram memory is ddr5 4800 16gb. curious as to how much ram memory upgrade is possible, I looked it up online. online sources say max is 16gb. but when I opened up my laptop, I saw 2 ram memory slots. one 16gb ddr5 4800 stick installed.

my question is why is there an extra slot for ram memory if the max memory is 16gb?

I'm thinking the max memory is more than the 16gb listed online. can someone confirm this for me? thank you.

I considered buying another 16gb ddr5 4800 ram to insert into the extra slot. but decided to wait for someone to confirm for me online that it will work.

This is the only information I can find: 16 GB DDR5 4800Mhz, Memory Slot 1 Slots Max Capacity 16 GB. Also reported is that the 16GB RAM may be soldered in this model. Crucial states that the AL14-51M-50D5 model has one slot that supports 32GB DDR5-5600MHz but your CPU only supports Up to DDR5 4800 MT/s so that must be for a different laptop. I believe that second slot is meant for 2x8GB DDR4-3200MHz (16GB RAM kit) also supported by the CPU.

Just some further advice, as your Acer Aspire LITE AL14-51M-507C is quoted at 16GB at DDR5-4800MHz when searching on the web for a ram upgrade, this laptops Intel® Core™ i3-1215U Processor - 10M Cache, up to 4.40 GHz, with IPU, Intel specifies the following cpu memory specifications, but the below specs are only applicable if the bios allows either 32GB or the full 64GB ram at DDR5-5200Mhz type ram to work as the cpu is only part of what your laptop can work with. Its up to you to try and take the gamble of 32GB at DDR5-4800Mh as I can't guarantee that it will work but its worth a try as the cpu is rated at 64GB max total. Good luck and hopr this helps you out further.

hello everybody. thanks for replying to my question. just so you know… I was wondering what the cpu on my laptop was rated for supporting where ram was concerned. I confirmed it's 64g. ..with that information in mind, I decided to go ahead and buy another stick. so, I got the corsair ddr5 4800 16gb. paid 50 dollars.

ran back home. wanted to see if it would work. BINGO! lo and behold. happy. went into settings to confirm my laptop recognized the extra ram memory.

so, now I'm thinking that the reason that online on the acer website where the specs are printed for all to see, they basically made a mistake. instead of showing 64g, they show 16g. somebody should tell them the mistake.
