I have had this laptop for a little over 2 years and have had no problems with it up until a few months ago I noticed it wasn't charging up to full percentage. I thought nothing of it and went on with my days. After recently checking on it later I had noticed that the percentage had decreased to around 80%. Now I started to get worried and looked for solutions, I couldn't find many solutions besides "buying a new battery" so I let it go on. I am now sitting here with it not being able to charge past 60%, I haven't tried many things but I've uninstalled the batteries through device manager and that didn't seem to help. I am at a loss here, I am taking it in to best buy for their tech services next week as I am not confident in my ability to take it apart successfully. Any suggestions?

First, have a look at the Acer Care Centre > Battery Health > that the switch is NOT set at Battery Charge Limit of 80%, if it is then turn the switch to Off.

If the above is not the case, then there is nothing wrong with your battery, if the orange battery charge light comes on and the battery doesn’t fully charge to 100% then there is a simple solution, take the adapter out of the back of the laptop and let the laptop work on battery only so that the battery charge gets to a stage where windows warns of a low battery charge, then plug the adapter back into the laptop and charge the battery fully to 100% as doing this will fix the battery only charging to 80%. This has happened to my 2.5 years old Nitro and the solution above is what I do and it fixes the charge so that the battery charges 100% every time. Good luck and hope this has helped you out.
