Hi there,

Recently, I updated Windows on my Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 without my laptop plugged in. The next time I turned on my laptop, I encountered a black screen with red text stating, "The upgrade process has been suspended. Please make sure the system meets both conditions below:

  1. Plug in AC adapter
  2. Battery capacity is more than 25%."

As a result, I now need to keep my laptop plugged in whenever I try to turn it on, even when the battery is fully charged. (only when I want to turn it on)

What steps should I take to resolve this issue?

To resolve the issue with your Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 laptop after the Windows updat.

Perform a system restore to revert the Windows update that caused the issue.

To perform a system restore on your Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 laptop, follow these steps:

    1. Open System Restore:
      • Press the Start button.
      • Type "Recovery" in the search box.
      • Select "Recovery" from the results.
      • Click on "Open System Restore."
    2. Choose a Restore Point:
      • Select a restore point from the list of available points.
      • Choose the one related to the problematic Windows update or point before that update
    3. Confirm and Restart:
      • Click Next.
      • Confirm your selection.
      • Restart your computer.

After the system restore, a status report will be displayed. If the issues persist, you may need to try booting into Safe Mode and performing a clean reinstall of Windows or resetting your laptop to its factory settings. In that case backup your files .

In addition to the above, restoring the system is only possible if there are restore points saved by Windows System Protection which is disabled by default in Windows11 for some obscure reason. Unless you enabled System Protection in the past you will not be able to use this important Windows feature. 😑
