Nitro 5 an515-55 not charging, dying when drawing more than 30w, lights flash when battery in

Some history on the laptop, I spilt water on it, it died and wouldn't boot. I opened it up and cleaned the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol and it started working again, however the battery would no longer charge but it still drew power from it. I was fine with this since I mostly used it plugged in anyways however it slowly began to die from more demanding games until it now can barely browse the web before dying.

I got a new battery and cord to test if that would fix the problem, neither did. initially I thought it was a heating issue, but it seems to be a power draw issue. I can occasionally get the battery to charge by unplugging the cord and replugging it multiple times while booting up. While the battery is installed and I try to play a game it'll start beeping then the orange and blue lights flash, then the charging icon disappears while the cord is still in, then it dies. I have tried everything I can find online from hard power resetting multiple times, as I have to when the lights start blinking, to resetting the bios. I have noticed when I plug in the new battery to the terminal it now sparks a bit, but that's more recent and didn't happen before and hasn't really changed anything.

With no battery installed it'll do the same, whenever it draws more than 30w it dies completely, without flashing any lights.

Is this something that can be resolved software side, or do I have a dying board?

No hard reset or bios battery unplugging rest or a new battery will fix your problems, as the liquid spill has affected/damaged your laptop internally and the main problem of your Nitro AN515-55 laptop is that it has major circuitries shorted inside that are causing tese problems in the laptops main power rail, as one of its rail mosats or capacitors is shorted due to that liquid spill. That is why the charring stopped working as the charging rail is on the same main rail and has also been affected, you are very lucky that the laptop is working at all.

Stop using the laptop and take your laptop to an experienced technician that can analyze the main power rail of this laptop and fix the appropriate circuitries to be fitted, you can't do this work yourself as you need microscopic soldering tools and a microscope to fix these laptops, so be aware of all this.

And if you keep using this laptop any longer (as you should have taken this laptop to a technician a long time ago) you can short this laptops EC or Chipset chips or a main mosat on the cpu or gpu sides which will blow the cpu or gpu out and if it’s the cpu then your laptop will need a new mainboard, so be very careful. As you can also blow the NVidia gpu and then your laptop will only operate on the Intel cpu graphics and will need the Nvidia gpu disabled by a technician. Take your Nitro AN515-55 laptop to an experienced technician that can fix your laptop as if you continue using this laptop you will completely damage it, so be warned, good luck and hope this helps you out.
