Resetting to Acer care centre,will it remove everything including how I have set up OneDrive?

I have been setting up my new all-in-one computer and I'm having a lot of trouble dealing with OneDrive. I really want to start completely over by removing everything I have added (settings, programs, data etc.). If I reset using Acer Care Center, will it remove everything, including how I have set up OneDrive? I want it to look as if I have just taken it out of the box. Thanks 🤔

    No you won't lose any data when Reset/Restoring with Acer Care. I have Cloud disabled on my two 2023 laptops, Cloud slows down Windows Performance considerably and if you don't have 5G Wi-Fi it will increase the latency (packets drop).     Hi Puraw, Thanks for the information and the link. I think I will disable OneDrive. My document folder is only on OneDrive and nowhere to be seen in my computer. I feel as if I want to start over with the folder organization. I thought I had duplicated the set up that is on my old computer but that doesn't seem to be the case. I think I must have set up the new one incorrectly. Would it be better to use the reset function in settings? Would that restore it back to a time before OneDrive was activated?

    I have found some info about the best way to reset. I'll avoid OneDrive in the future. This has been interesting. 😉

    If you use the Windows reset instead of the Acer reset you will end up with a vanilla Windows install, none of the Acer specific apps will be there. Better is to go with the Acer reset so you get back to factory fresh…

    Having OneDrive installed (which is there by default in Windows) doesn't move your Documents off the local machine, it just mirrors them to your cloud storage. They aren't necessarily in the same physical folder you expect, but they are there. The two big advantages to using OneDrive is to have them all backed up automatically and to have the same documents on multiple computers without needing to copy them back and forth. If you only work with one computer, and do local backups regularly, it's not a big problem to remove it.

    billsey: Thanks for the good advice. I think I'm starting to make sense of this. I had reset using Windows reset so I'm now wondering if I can now reset using Acer reset to restore the Acer specific apps. I have reinstalled Acer Care Center. I don't care about losing data because I hadn't made many changes to the new computer. My main goal is to set up Library only on my computer and not through OneDrive.

    Sometimes when you do a Windows reset it overwrites the Acer image, at which point you can't do the factory restore any longer. If you have Windows running fine and have Acer Care Center installed you likely don't need to do the full reset again. Just unlink your OneDrive from your local documents and you will be good to go.

    1. In the Notifications area on the bottom of the Windows screen, right-click the OneDrive icon. You might have to click the Show Hidden Icons arrow to find OneDrive.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Go to the Account tab.
    4. Select Unlink this PC and then Unlink account.

    Once you have unlinked then OneDrive will no longer be syncing data from your Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc..

    If you want to try to do the full Acer factory restore, reboot with Alt-F10 and follow the prompts to reset.
