I understand you are getting error on hid l2c driver.

Even after reinstalling windows you are getting this error.

    Go to device manager

Right click on l2c driver - update the driver - chose the first option - install driver automatically

Right click l2c driver - uninstall the driver. Without restarting the computer install the chipset driver and check. Try to find out whether your computer was shipped with Windows 10 or Windows 11 at the time of purchase. Better try to reinstall windows which was shipped when you purchased it.

Try windows + x - go to device manager - right click on l2c driver - update driver

chose the first option - install driver automatically

If it is not working chose 2nd option browser my computer - chose 2nd option let me pick - chose the right l2c driver - install it one by one and click on close

If it is still not working , uninstall the driver and restart the computer. It will install the driver automatically.

If it is still not working, it might be a hardware issue, you might have to take the computer to local tech.

I have tried all of those things and it is not working. It just stopped working one day after I upgraded to windows 11. The serial io host controller is working but the hid can't start cause the descriptor failed probably best to take to technician as I am getting so frustrated.

    Thanks for trying

I understand you say "I have tried all of those things and it is not working. It just stopped working one day after I upgraded to windows 11"

Please try to go back to windows 10 and check whether the problem recur again.

Wee won't be able to do more than guess without knowing what laptop you have. Needless to say Acer has a lot of different models! Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx.

I have a SP114-31, NXABWAA003118005316600. I have went back to windows 10. I have spoken with Microsoft because as I said it happened after I upgraded to windows 11. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling and removing the driver from the system. Updated the computer ran troubleshooters. I am not sure how to check if it is working in my Bios as there is not system settings there for me to see if it is disabled. I don't understand how it just dissappeared.

Thanks for that model number. I'll ask the moderators to edit your SNID, you aren't supposed to post the whole thing, but the first ten digits are OK. Your Spin uses an I2C connection that is part of the eDP cable to route the touch panel signals to the motherboard, along with the video, camera and microphones. At only three years old the cable likely hasn't been flexed enough to start developing cracks in the wires, but that is a possibility. I assume when you turn on the show hidden devices option in Device Manager the touch screen does show back up, but grayed out? That would tend to point to that I2C interface not passing traffic, or passing traffic that's garbled. The touch panel is the only thing using the I2C interface on that cable, so if it were the cable that would be the only thing affected. Do you have anything showing in Device Manager will errors or warnings other than the touch?
