I am planning to upgrade storage of my laptop. I'm confused whether my laptop will support m.2 sata or not, though it has a slot in motherboard. I have been using 1 TB HDD till now and wanted to add an SSD. Would like to know from acer expert whether to go with m.2 sata or sata lll SSD and what would be maximum storage capacity that ccan be supported. I tried searching for my laptop's compatibility but did not find anything about this particular model. Your help would be really supportive. My laptop information are as following:

Model Number: Aspire 5 A515-51-32U4

Part Number:NXGPASI004xxxxxxxxxxx

Processor: Intel Core i3-7130U - 2.7GHz

OS: Windows 11 Pro

Mainboard: KBL Charmander_KL V2.02

Bios: Insyde Corp V2.02

Country: India

Thank you very much for going through this post.

Yes, there is a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot for a M.2 2280 NVMe Gen3 SSD like the Samsung 970 EVO Plus up to 2TB, If you are still using an HDD you can replace the 2.5" Sata-3 "spinner" for a much faster 2.5" Sata-3 SSD like the Samsung 870 Evo V-NAND up to 2TB.

Both M.2 SATA and NVMe are compatible with this model. NVMe SSD will have a faster speed.
