My laptop used to start after a couple of tries when I first purchased it. I thought I was missing a small trick as it used to turn on after a couple tries but I didn’t use it for a long time and now it takes 20 attempts to get it to turn on. I looked online and seems like so many people had this issue. It’s like Acer knows it’s a faulty product but still sold it.

The lights on the keyboard turn on. The fan turns on. Plugging in the charger or taking it out while attempting to turn it on makes a beeping sound. I tried taking the battery out and using charger only but didn’t work. I’m writing this post coz I’ve been trying for an hour to get it to turn on tonight. I need somebody to help me or give me an address where I can take it or send it to get it fixed. I barely used this computer and it’s so frustrating to get it to start.

This model is 4-years old, if you had the booting problem from the beginning you should have returned it immediately to the retailer and demanded another unit. If the issue only happened recently, I suspect a bad power button and/or a failing battery. Check the condition of the battery with a Windows Battery report, paste this in the Command Prompt: powercfg /batteryreport and check the last fully charged battery capacity. You can check the power button by pressing it shortly (0.5 sec.) if the system goes to sleep mode the button is probably OK. The best place for repairs is an Acer accredited PC repair shop or Acer Services in your country (check services Acer Support online).
