I am having a fast charging and fast draining battery problem. I already reset the battery using the tiny hole at the bottom of the laptop.

I think the fast charging and draining started when I installed this update: "2024-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5039212)" last June 13, 2024.

What I did not try yet is the BIOS update. I know that updating BIOS is very risky, so I am asking if anyone has tried updating their BIOS on Aspire A715-42G.

Below is my system's information:

System Model: Aspire A715-42G
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics, 2100 Mhz, 6 Core(s) 12 Logical Processor(s)

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Home Single Language
OS Version: 22H2 (10.0.22621 Build 22621) Installed on 26/‎02/‎2023
OS build: 22621.3737

BIOS Version/Date: Insyde Corp. V1.08, 15/09/2021

Thank you in advance.

Nah, that June 13 update was a very small update not related to power issues at all, check in Update History if it installed successfully.

Your Bios version 1.08 is out of date, I recommend updating to version 2022/10/06 1.10 as that is exclusively for your Windows 22H2 version and maybe you will receive the upgrade to 23H2 afterwards. Make sure your battery is fully charged and KEEP THE ADAPTER PLUGGED IN especially when updating your BIOS, cutting of the power or trying to abort an update will brick the laptop. https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/510-how-to-update-your-bios-on-an-acer-notebook-computer

The "Fast charging" is normally 45 minutes from 5-100% and a lot less if the battery is >50% charged. If you are using the Acer Care Center 80% battery charge limiter, stop accSVC in Windows Services and disable the Startup type in properties. In Power & Battery settings set the Power Mode to Best Power Efficiency and turn on the Battery saver (at 20%).

Thank you for the response. By the way, here is my battery report, based on this battery report, can you confirm if my battery is the problem and not my BIOS version?

Additional information: 22H2 was installed on 26/‎02/‎2023
