What is the exact laptop model number as we need that to give you a precise answer. Not all laptops need the battery changed if the battery light is orange as it could be that your laptops power and charge main rails are faulty and need fixing by a technician.

Check the 2 Ram modules some models come with a separate door, easy to access, if you have another RAM module set try that or just unseat the modules and secure back in the slots. If you have to open the back of the laptop to get to the RAM modules, disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard locate the round CMOS at the right side of the battery and remove the coin battery, with a small piece of electrical wire or opened paperclip shorten the +/- contacts (connect the two contacts) at the base (-) and at the side (+) of the CMOS module for a few seconds and put the coin battery back in with the + sign facing up. Press the power button 5-10 seconds (keeping it pressed down) to discharge any residual static charge. Reconnect the battery and try to boot.
