Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-58) only charges in certain positions

So a little backstory, a couple of days ago I was using my acer nitro 5 (AN515-58) to the point where it was getting relatively hot when I noticed that the charge indicator was flickering rapidly. I go to take out the cord to see what is wrong but the charger seems to be almost stuck into the socket so in a moment of slight panic I borderline yank it out of the socket. Note my computer wasn't even running that hot for gaming (only about 66C on both gpu and cpu). Now the laptop can only charge when the charger is rotated and fixed into a certain position (and said position changes every couple of hours). Did I accidentally break the charging socket? Looking into the port with a flashlight nothing seems to be out of the ordinary but its getting relatively annoying now. If so how would I go about fixing it?

The DC charging port on this model is soldered onto the motherboard and needs to be replaced, also you need a new power adapter (see picture). Your laptop is from 2022 and I recommend bringing it to Acer Services in your country to replace the port, it will be repaired either under warranty or for a minor service fee (cost of the port itself is insignificant).

It's possible that you damaged the charging socket on your Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-58) when you forcefully removed the charger. The symptoms you're describing—charging only when the charger is rotated and fixed in a specific position—often indicate a loose or damaged charging port. To fix this, you may need to have the laptop serviced by a professional technician who can inspect the port internally. They may need to repair or replace the charging port to resolve the issue permanently. It's advisable not to attempt further manipulation of the port yourself to avoid causing additional damage.
