Every time I plug my headphones into my laptop, there is an intermittent high-pitched 'zipping' sound that occurs. The noise is horrible. It only happens every so often, but I can count on it to happen not too long after first inserting my headphones. It curiously never occurs when audio is actually playing; only when no sound is on. This is quite jarring as I may pause a video for a few brief seconds and the noise will occur. My current way around it is to always have Spotify playing at a miniscule volume as this seems to prevent it, but it is still not ideal.

This noise never happens when I use my earphones in other devices and I have changed earphones 3 times now, but the same problem occurs with my laptop. It has been happening since I bought my acer nitro 5.

I have ensured drivers are not corrupted, audio enhancements are disabled, downgraded to Win10 although my laptop automatically upgraded back to Win11 overnight anyway; but can't seem to get to the bottom of this. I am currently awaiting on a ground loop isolator to arrive to test if this resolves my issue.

I have tried looking at other forums to find a solution, but to no avail.
