I have a acer extensa 215-54 and I was wondering if there are any drivers for Linux mint as I want to make the switch.

Your Extensa has been out for something like three years now and it typically only takes a year or so for new hardware to be supported by the Linux folks. Acer did ship a few of these in some locales with a Linux flavor on them, so I doubt if there is going to be an issue with running Mint on one. Do a full backup of your Windows just in case, then go ahead with the Mint install, making sure to remove all partitions and let the installer create needed partitions for you. You should be good to go, and if not you can always restore the Windows from your backup.
