Hi,

Apologies if this has already been discussed but I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-77D4 and up until now it has been brilliant…

…Today whilst on a teams call, out of nowhere black ink within the display just spread across the whole screen and in a matter of 60 seconds, my screen went black, I could still hear the people on the call and I am currently using it via secondary screen so it is an isolated screen issue however this is where I could do with some assistance on, I have NEVER had an issue with it before, it has never been dropped, never moved from my desk apart from today but I am always careful with all my possessions, especially tech! There are no cracks on the screen so why this has happened, I have no clue! To make things worse, it is barely 2 years old.

After phoning Curry's it is now out of warranty and I didn't think to take out additional insurance at the time so is it just a case of sending it over to Acer or Curry's to replace the screen?

P.s. I know I can do it myself but it is the parts that I am worried about with so many 'compatible' ones rather than OEM, I have no faith that they will last.

But before I explore either option, can I just check there if there is anything else I can do to make sure that I definitely need to replace the screen?

Thanks :)

Also does anyone know approx cost via Acer as I’ve just had a look now and it requires me to send the device before they can say but Curry’s would be more convenient, just seen bad reviews on Curry’s repairs
