Hey I have "acer aspire 3 a315-58g-74jc" it comes with

  • i7 1165g7
  • Nvidia mx350
  • 8gb ram(4gb soldered + 4gb 3200mhz Samsung which I installed)
  • sata SSD 500gb

what I wanted to know is how much ram does it support I mean it only have one slot and in that one slot what is the max ram can be installed? also in task manager ram speed is 2667mhz so if I upgrade which type of speed ram should I buy 2666mhz or 3200mhz. and is it worth it to upgrade it to 20gb(by adding 16gb ram) or 12gb(by adding 8gb ram) because I only play games sometimes like gta 5 and some shooting games mostly I do programming or watch movies and if i upgrade i will also lose the option for dual channel support.

another question is about the nvme which type of m2 SSD does it support and what generation and what is the maximum storage it support.

and the last doubt I have is does this laptop have compatibility issues on different companies ram and SSD.

I am think to buy this particular model I have attach the screen shot. also the SSD come in to variant one is fa100 and another is re100 so which on will it support

[Edited the thread to add model name to the title]

Best to match the soldered RAM module, you have 4GB soldered on the motherboard so you can upgrade up to 20GB max. (4GB onboard memory + 16GB in the removable RAM slot) with DDR4 2666MHz or 3200MHz module (the system will still run at 2666MHz maximum). Remove the 4GB module you installed in the slot and run this command to find the part number and speed of the soldered module: wmic memorychip list full get a 16GB module with the same specs as in the part number.
The Gen3 Acer SSD will work in your laptop. I would buy a Samsung 970 Evo Plus up to 4TB but both are good drives.

also here is a screenshot from HWinfo

it is also showing that soldered memory is 3200mhz but why is it running at 2667mhz in the task manager here again

is it the motherboard that have limitation that or acer locked the speed at 2667mhz. here is the motherboard details

I am so confused right know with this memory thing also there is no clear mention from acer also in user manual. I want to buy an 8gb or 16gb soo should I go with 2666mhz or 3200mhz as in task manager speed its 2667mhz so will 2666mhz ram works because it have 1mhz less then the 2667mhz or I should buy 3200mhz knowing the speed will be lock at 2667mhz. Please someone just give me on straight answer so I can buy an upgrade it.
