I've been using my Acer Aspire 5 A515-56G for a couple of months now and was having issues with cpu clock speeds going from 3Ghz+ to 600/400Mhz for no reason but the problem went away and it came back now I started playing fortnite and the graphics were bare minimum and cpu is stuck going between 1.4Ghz to 400Mhz the tempretures were around 70 and the battery is plugged full at 100%. this is getting unbearable as before purchasing the laptops I saw benchmarks on it and saw it able to play a lot of games but those same games I cant even play at 30 frames without getting constant stutters I tried all the solutions but nothing is working I took it to the warranty service they said it is a "protective measure" to protect the motherboard from being fried which doesn't make sense as my 18 year old Casper Nirvana used to run games without any issues.

If there is any solutions please let me know

Windows 11 Home 64Bit
8 GB DDR4 2333Mhz
I5-1135G7
Nvidia Geforce Mx450 2GB

The Aspire A515-56G is not a gaming laptop as it’s a general purpose laptop, as a quick fix and for you to play “Fortnite” increase the ram to 16GB by buying another and exact same spec DDR4 8GB ram module (install CPUz and see your existing ram specs and match that) that you have installed in your laptop now, as that should improve gaming performance somewhat.

Remember that the Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU is an entry-level graphics card for laptops. Although it’s a basic video card, it’s faster than the common integrated graphics processors like the Intel UHD or AMD Radeon Vega series. On the other hand, it greatly lags behind the gaming-class graphics cards such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX or RTX series.

That is why Acer has locked all overclocking features for and on these laptops as you have been told that it’s a "Protective Measure" to protect the motherboard from being fried and its not to be used for gaming. If you want a gaming laptop buy the Acer Nitro or Predator model(s) as they are excellent and specifically built for gaming with high end gaming gpu’s. Good luck.

Note: Adding more RAM and speed of the ram can improve gaming performance, but it depends on several factors. If your system has less than 8GB of RAM, increasing the capacity will have a significant impact on performance. However, once you have enough RAM to meet the game’s requirements, adding more may not yield substantial improvements

Thank you for your comment steven but here's the thing, yes the laptop isnt meant for gaming and I do understand that but the Mx450 and the 11. Gen I5 does meet the requirements for some certain games like forza 5 and fortnite and so on but the problem is some of the games the Cpu down clock's itself to the point of it's unplayable as i said 400/600Mhz but in other games it doesn't like War thunder for example Cpu stays around 3Ghz+ and it does not down clock itself at all.

Keep in mind I bought this laptop specifaclly for it's external GPU so I can do my Uni homework and at my free time I play on it a bit.
