Ethernet not working on Concept D

Hi

I have a few Concept D's. They all work fine by wifi, but I cannot get them to work via the Ethernet connection at all. The ethernet adaptor is supposedly working correctly, but it says no network.

However, it works fine when I plug my laptop in to the same connection exactly. And if I run Microsoft's troubleshoot it works briefly, and then stops working again. So looks like an issue with the hardware. Has this been experienced before?

same issue here needs to be fixed by Acer Teams.

I still haven't solved this. But I've delved a bit deeper. When I turn off the wifi it says Unidentified Network (No internet). But there is when I plug the same CAT5 cable into my laptop. So it's clearly an issue with the network card. This is not a PCI card and I can't swap it easily, or add another one, except for a USB adapter, but surprisingly, that says the same thing. (Despite working fine on an iBook I have).

So it's almost like the computer's issue is connecting to a LAN. Maybe I need to upgrade the BIOS or the Chipset? I can't figure out how to do this though (and I shouldn't need to).
