Recently, my laptop turn off itself (into sleep mode) whenever I have physically pressed on the palm rest assembly (on the left, beside the touchpad), even the slightest way possible. It either blackout the screen for some seconds or sleep it ownself which really affects my work. I think it might has high possibility because of the hardware (I have never has my laptop damaged or something like that) but what to be specific part then I don't know. Anyone has any ideas on this situation or how to fix it? Thanks for the help.

There is a lid sensor next to the touchpad. Make sure that you do not have anything magnetic like a phone, or headphones, … placed in that area. Or the cable connecting between the lid sensor and the motherboard is bad, making the laptop randomly recognize the lid is closed.

Sounds like a bad contact, either KB/Touchpad cable or component under the palm rest, I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country for checking. It could be Statics discharging when you touch the laptop, but you should see or hear a spark, check if the charger is properly grounded with a 3-pin AC power plug inserted in a properly grounded wall outlet, avoid a 2-wire extension cord/2-pin AC plug adapter.

Yep, it definitely is the lid sensor. I don't know how did it get folded but when I set it back to default (flat), the problem is solved. Tysm and have a nice day, save me lots of time and resources.

Your solution worked, which save me lots of time. It definitely is the lid sensor, I don't know how it got folded (perpendicular to the surface), when I get it back to flat with the surface, it works perfectly.

Thank you so much and hope you have a nice day too!
