Hello everyone. I have an Acer Aspire 7 laptop, which came with 8 gigabytes from the factory. Now that I added it, I began to notice that any game I play does not use all the memory. The system uses as maximum 6.4 gigabytes of RAM out of 13.9 gigabytes. Please help me with this. I did not use msconfig and bios, it is limited in laptops of this model. Drivers are updated and Windows is updated and recently installed.

Warning: Never use MSconfig.exe to try and change the CPU/GPU defaults, you will brick your laptop doing that.

VRAM is allocated automatically by Windows according to the physical RAM installed, you have no control over that, and BIOS has no settings pertaining to RAM or VRAM. You didn't tell us your full laptop model, Windows version or what type of RAM you have installed (2x8GB?) take a screen shot of Task Manager-Performance-Memory tab and post that so we can advise you better.

here is a screenshot. Let's take for example the game "garry's mod" with a huge/small map open, I got exactly the same no more than 6.5GB of RAM, despite the fact that the FPS on them is different, this called bottleneck in RAM or something like that

here is a screenshot. I ran the game garry's mod and, regardless of the size of the map, my RAM load did not increase. In both cases there is no more than 6.5 gigabytes of RAM. Despite the fact that the FPS on one was 200, and on the other 30.

Is the game performance affected? The game doesn't have to utilize full RAM capacity, so that is normal.

@AnhEZ28,my FPS on a small map is about 200, and on a large one, where you need more RAM, about 30. So it affects

@AnhEZ28 @Puraw , I launched Minecraft today, there you could set the maximum allowable RAM usage. I set it to 11GB. and even when I turned on rendering for 64 chunks, not even half of my RAM was used. Despite the fact that FPS has dropped

Did you try to update the driver and follow the optimization guide?

@AnhEZ28 .By the way, as I understand it, I just have some kind of limit, not RAM. Well, for example, the game Dota 2. I went into training on the character, turned on abilities without kd, and just started spamming. My FPS dropped to 20, but the load on the video card, the processor, and the RAM did not change at all. Can you help?
