Hello. When I plug in my headset (Skullcandy Hesh 2) to the 3.5mm jack, the laptop does not use my headset mic. I found out it uses the internal, [Content Removed], camera mic, which is something I don't understand. Yes, I have picked the option "Headset" when it asks which device you plugged in. Yes, I have reinstalled my audio driver and, as a matter of fact, multiple times too. Yes, it is not the headset's problem as it works perfectly fine on other laptops. Yes, I made sure it was plugged in correctly. Everything I find on the internet does not work for me :(
So I decided to buy an USB to 3.5mm adapter. I was happy when I finally heard my headset's mic.
Then, 3 days ago, my dog chewed on it and the USB ceased to work... now I am obligated to use the standard jack. Here's the interesting part: I thought the mic wouldn't work when I plugged it in, but to my surprise, it did. Everything was coming from my mic, not the laptop's. I believe it kinda fixed itself. But the next day, it went back to what it did before. The bug came back. Then I discovered that when I pick "Mic in" in the popup, it does use my headset's mic, which is not okay because the audio comes from the speakers and I'd like it to go to my headset.
TLDR; the laptop only recognizes the headset's mic if I pick "Mic in" but it doesn't when I choose "Headset". The Headset option sometimes works only for a limited amount of time.
(sorry for my English)
