I have a Aspire Md 3985 computer and I love it. I am wondering if there is a motherboard for the MD395 that will pass so I can install Windows 11.

I have 3 hard drives including 1 SSD and 2 DVD Drives and I would like to keep them. The ram on this is at 16GB so unless I can grow it I am ok with keeping this.

Love the USBs on top of the tower, but I would love to go to USB 3.0 on all.

I will change what I have to keep the tower. Please advise.

Fred

The Aspire M3985 desktop that you have has a microATX (9.6” × 9.6” - 244 × 244 mm). board with an Intel 2nd Gen Socket LGA-1155 CPU and an Intel B75 chipset which is not compatible with Win-11. Your best option imo is to buy a new desktop as upgrading your Aspire M3985 desktop to be Win-11 compatible would cost probably more than a new Aspire TC-1760 desktop that is Win-11 compatible and sold by Acer today.

Just as an example, here is what you will need to do to upgrade your existing Aspire M3985 desktop the cheapest way so that its Win-11 and has a TPM 2.0 security compatible board. You will need to buy a new microATX board with at least an Intel 8th Gen CPU (higher Gen CPU is preferable) new DDR4 or DDR5 ram, new PCIe3x4 or PCIe4x4 M.2 SSD drive and a new modular PSU and of course if you game a new GTX 16 or RTX 30 or 40 type GPU. The only thing that you can use from the old Aspire M3985 desktop is the old SATA drive (but it will be very slow with Win-11 and I wouldn’t use it) and of course the case, that is all that your old desktop will be good for. Good luck and hope this has helped you out.
