What could be a problem when an Acer computer is powered on, and the screen remains black for more than 30 minutes?

Many different problems can cause a POST failure that result in a no boot or BSOD situation, dead battery (if a laptop), RAM (bad connection/module(s), bad components/chips, bad motherboard, loose/bad cable connectors (ePD cable) just to name a few. A black screen but LED lights are on, and the fan(s)/HDD are spinning it is probably a software (display driver) issue, try booting in Safe Mode with the Windows USB Recovery USB flash drive.

It would really help to know just which P model you have. There have been a lot of them over the years. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like TMPxx-xxx-xxxx. As Puraw says, there are a lot of potential reasons.
