Hi Acer Community,

I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54-515W 2019 model.

Back in 2022 I was using the laptop occasionally, and after a few weeks break I wanted to play some CSGO, the battery was dead so I had to plug in the charger to power it on. When I plugged the charger the lights on the side went on as usual, but as soon as I pressed power button, the screen flashed for a second and since that moment the laptop stopped responding to anything.

I have taken it to non official service for a check up and they confirmed that it’s the motherboard that died and needs replacing. At that time the cheapest replacement would cost me half of the laptop price, but last week I have found pre-owned AN515-54 Motherboard I79750H rtx2060 NB.Q9611.004 from a trusted seller for a decent price.

The seller has confirmed that it should fit no problem. But possibly somebody could give me some advice on what do I need to check before installing the new motherboard as I’d like to try doing this myself?

I think I have the right tools for to complete the replacement, but I don’t have an ammeter to check if any other parts been damaged besides from the motherboard itself.

Just wondering what’s the best way to complete diagnostics/replacement myself and if there anything else I need to look out for. Any useful YouTube guides are very welcome too :)

Thank you
