Why is my Acer nitro v15 running hot when doing daily tasks but cool when gaming

I've been using an Acer nitro v15 for 6 months and it's never given me trouble before. But yesterday it had a crash and I restarted it and suddenly the temperature which usually is around 50⁰-60⁰C jumps to 70⁰C when opening browsers and when I try to multitask. It usually stays around 70⁰-80⁰. But the stage thing is when I play games like CS2 or Genshin, the temperature only increases about 10⁰ so it stays between 75⁰-90⁰. Do I need to change my thermal paste or is there something in the software?

What is the battery charge at, if <50% and you then plug in the adapter/charger it will switch to fast charging while also powering the system generating a lot of heat. Keep the adapter/charger plugged-in 24/7 and make sure the battery is always 100% charged. Reset the power plan to factory default in "Edit Power Plan", you can increase the fan speed in Acer Quick Access.

Everytime I use it, it's always plugged in and I've turned on the battery charge limit so the maximum charge is 80%.

what i meant was when i'm using it for daily uses it overheats but when im playing games the temprature isn't far off from that. In nitrosense the graph of usage for the cpu goes up and down frequently when casually using it but when gaming it's mostly flat and it's the opposite for the gpu

Uninstall Acer Care Center, do not use the 80% battery limiter, don't use battery monitoring bloatware, (almost) everyone in this community agrees that limiting the battery charging is not doing anything for the lifespan of a Li-Ion battery that is a myth circulating on the web, why are you still doing that? Acer has taken that option out of the later versions of ACC as it impedes using the battery to full capacity (like running a car always on a half empty tank), interferes with Windows Power Plan, BIOS and MS ACPI protocol. 😑

I used to have an HP laptop and it's battery was complete useless after a couple of months using it plugged in at 100% all the time. So I thought by limiting battery charge I could avoid another battery problem. I didn't know it was actually a bad thing. Also why do I need to uninstall Acer Care Center, isn't it just like the settings app but for acer laptops?

And another thing, could you tell me what's the right way to keep the charger plugged in without risking another battery problem

You don't want unnecessary programs/apps using your valuable recourses and internet bandwidth for nothing, that's why users reformat their new PC to install a Clean version of Windows, to get rid of all the bloatware. If you later decide you want Acer Care back, you can download a newer version from Acer Support or the Window Store. All features in ACC are available in Windows10-11 and ACC does not run well in Windows11 (check this forum), completely useless for updates and runs permanently at the background using RAM.

You should leave the charger plugged in 24/7 to keep the battery fully charged, this won't affect battery wear, your experience with the HP battery was not the charging but probably because of a low grade, (refurbished) cheap Chinese battery. If you buy an Acer endorsed brand battery it comes with 1 year warranty and will last 1,000 charge cycles (3-4 years) after that the battery won't hold more than 40% charge and you should replace it as it no longer discharges linear so you can expect power failures at any time. https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001587.htm

So should I just plug in the charger all the time even when it is shut down, or should I unplug it after shutting down and plug in it again before turning it on?

Leave it plugged in all the time, just forget about the charger and enjoy the laptop. When you move to an area without power or travel run on the battery only.
