Is a screen protector necessary/recommended for Chromebook Spin 714?

I just ordered a Chromebook Spin 714. Since this is an on-the-go machine, and I will be using the touchscreen function, I'm wondering if a screen protector is necessary or recommended, and also people's experiences with/without one.

TIA,

I typically don't use a screen protector with any of my touch screen laptops, but then I am not all that bothered by the fingerprints… :)

I have a Spin 714 and am also looking for a screen protector. I have a Peoval Stylus and am concerned about scratching up my screen. I also move my computer a lot due to community college. Any advice or recommendations on a screen protector would be great. I'm tired of buying some on Amazon that end up not fitting properly.

Neither of you have actually told us which Spin 714 model you have. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like CP714-xxx-xxxx. There are at least five base models in that series, and literally hundreds of different SKUs. They don't all use the same screen. If I were to guess I'd think yours is one of the newer ones, with a 14" screen and 16:10 aspect ratio. Your best bet is to actually measure the portion of the screen that is not covered by the bezel and use that as a reference to purchase a screen protector. Worse case would be to buy one that's slightly larger and cut it down to fit.
