I have an Acer Swift SF114-34 laptop running Windows 11 Home, 64-bit operating system.

My laptop suddenly says 'No cameras found' 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>

I have run multiple suggested fixes including downloading and running the latest (30th April, 2024) Windows update, restarting laptop, toggling camera privacy settings off and on, running the 'other troubleshooter' for the camera, checking there is no physical switch for camera (there isn't), no keyboard button pressed to disbale camera (no button, nothing pressed) - no solution. Have tried seraching for a camera diver on Acer website but cannot find one. I only bought this laptop new just over a year ago. Does anyone know how to get camera working again please? It's (to use a colloquial expression) doing my head in. :-)

Open Device Manager. Does it have a section shown for cameras? If not turn on the View; show hidden devices option. Do you now get a camera section? If so the camera was there at some point. Next expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section and delete the eXtensible host controller and the Root hubs. Reboot to allow those to reinstall. Does the camera now show up?

Thanks. Unfortunately this didn’t fix the problem. When I clicked on the View; show hidden devices option I did indeed get a camera section suggesting so the camera was there at some point. Next I expanded the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section and deleted the eXtensible host controller and the Root hubs and rebooted to allow those to reinstall. The camera still doesn’t show up and when I once again click on the View; show hidden devices option I no longer get a camera section. Not sure what to do now. This laptop is only 15 months old and was a replacement for a previous Acer laptop whose hard drive failed irretrievably while also quite new. None of this gives me confidence in Acer. If I end up having to buy yet another new laptop, does anyone know of any alternatives better than Acer? :-/
