Hi, the sound on my Acer Aspire 5 is not working, it says there is no output device available. I tried troubleshooting but it also cannot find the laptop's speakers in the Device Manager - it only shows the devices that ever connected by Bluetooth to my laptop and when I try to connect those, it works but through the external speaker, of course. I have tried restarting my laptop and I'm using Windows 10. What could the issue be and how should I fix it? Thank you in advance!

It could be a sound setting in Windows10, check that you have the Realtek speakers enabled. If you don't see the RTK speakers in Device Manager Audio inputs outputs you have to uninstall the Realtek driver with DDU in Safe Mode and just reboot: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html

You can also try FX Sound. It is a Free open-source software to boost sound quality, volume, and bass. Including an equalizer, effects, and presets for customized audio.

I had a number of sound issues. My external speakers would not work through the jackplug. After much internet time I discovered there is a Realtek Audio Console which has a lot of power over what happens.

Go to the Search in the taskbar.
    Type Realtek Audio Console
In the console Main page, look for the Setting cog.
On the Test page one can test the speakers. Really useful.

Go to the Device advanced settings (bottom left of screen)
then look at "Connector retasking" and set to "Speaker out"

This now allows one to use the external speakers if plugged in.
