Hi, I have an Acer Predator g3-605 that I haven't run for at least a year. When I pressed the start button, the pc turned on then off in less than a second, then it turned back on by itself after about 2 seconds and emitted a 2 second beep with no feedback on the screen. After consulting the Internet, I learned that it could be a ram failure. So I removed the ram strips, to check that there was no dust on them, and I tested them slot by slot on my own to see if it was due to a defective ram strip, and I always get the same thing. However, the PC is switched on, the fan is running, the graphics card too, the power supply, the hard disk, ... So I don't understand why I'm getting this. If anyone can help me solve this problem. I'm sorry if the text may contain inconsistencies, I use translation software (deepl).

    @AYTUN3536

    Even after cleaning the RAM strips if it does not work than it could be a hardware issue.

    Request you to contact Acer support

    Do you think it's the ram or the motherboard? @Jack22

    The ram failure beep in POST is a continuous beep that doesn't stop until you turn the power back off. It sounds like you are getting one long beep code instead. Acer didn't publish the beep codes for the Predator G3-605 in their service guide though, so I'm not certain what one long beep means.

    Heheh, the G3-605 was released the summer of 2013, so it's somewhat … unlikely to still be in warranty.

    Whenever you open a laptop and take the ram out "I hope you disconnected the main battery first"? As that is essential as takin the ram out could cause further damage. I suggest that you do a Hard Reset by taking the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and short its + & - pins at the mainboard plug with a metal object to reset CMOS and then take the ram out, leave the laptop like that for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight) and then connect everything together and see if the laptop boots normally.

    If the laptop still has a blank screen, then you could have an eDP cable or its plugs are shorted at either the screen end or mainboard end, so that needs to be checked out, if all this is not the cause of the blank screen, take your laptop to a technician and have your laptop checked for any further faults. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    After all this time, maybe the CMOS battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

    Steven, the G3-605 is a desktop, not a laptop. :)

    Sorry I confused it with the G3 laptops and you are correct, so that post is irrelevant!😁
