Hi I used to be able to use my Canon Camera automatically by plugging into the USB of my Acer swift 3. just a few days ago - it could not detect the camera at all. you only hear the connecting ping and disconnecting ping after a while and it failed to have any response.

Not sure if anyone had such experience and tried everything like updating windows, reinstalling the camera driver, try all ports, etc. Nothing worked.

Okay, let's see if we can work through this.

    1. When you connect the Camera to Swift 3, close the EOS Utility program. Go Into your Hidden icons area at the bottom right of the Task bar. Open the window and see if you see the EOS Utility icon. If so click on it"

    Select "Do not launch...".

    1. Connect your camera by USB and power it on. Open the Devices and Printers window in Control panel. Do you see your camera?
    2. Go to C: drive Program Files (x86) and look for this path:

Since you don't want the Wi-Fi/direct choice you can open EU3 directly. Then just save the shortcut to your desktop or Task Bar.
