My Aspire A515-45G does not switch on unless it is connected to the power supply.

Hello all the Community,
my Aspire A515-45G, bought 1 year ago, if it's not connected to the power supply it doesn't turn on anymore (since two days). I don't think it depends on low battery or no autonomy as, if the cable is plugged in and I press the power button and, immediately afterwards, remove it from the power, the computer starts up normally and, when it is switched on, I see that there is 80% battery.
What could this be?
Thank you very much.

Try this. Turn the machine off and remove the charger. Insert a paperclip into the battery reset pinhole on the bottom for about 5 seconds. Then try to start it again on battery alone.

Go to the elevated command prompt. Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.

    Then search for' battery-report.html' in sub-folder C:\windows\system32\

Double-click to open the html file in the browser. Compare design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible.

    Hallo Jack E/NJ,
    this is it:
    DESIGN CAPACITY 53,015 mWh
    FULL CHARGE CAPACITY 46,292 mWh

I attach screenshots as you requested. I hope I understood what you were asking (my English is very poor).

    Thank you.

OK. Battery's full charge watt-hr energy capacity still seems OK but may not be able to deliver enough watt power due to resistance for the initial startup without relying on power help from the charger.

Go to this link. Download, unzip & run StressMyPC on battery alone from either the US or German mirror download site. Check if the laptop stays on while performing the StressMyPC test. If it turns off during the test, then we must remove bottom cover to reseat battery connector to mainboard to try to lower connector resistance or replace battery if resistance is inside the battery.

    Hallo Jack E/NJ,
I've been running the test for 1/2 hour now but everything seems fine, the computer stays on. I'm now trying to fully discharge the laptop battery anyway.
Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thank you very much.

OK. Yes, 100% full charge. Then shut it down. Pull the plug and immediately try to turn it back on again.

No way, without power supply it shows no signs of life.

Charge battery back to 100%. Then boot it up again with the charger. Unplug the charger and run the StressMyPC test again for ~10 mins on battery alone.

Then shut machine off. Remove 11 screws from bottom cover to pry it off. Then disconnect battery pack from mainboard. Check voltage between red and black wires on each end of its multi-lead connector. Should range either 11.5 —-12.0 vdc or 15.5 —- 16.0 vdc

    Hallo Jack E/NJ,

Unfortunately, I don't have the expertise (nor the means: I don't have a battery tester) to do what you described. I will have to go to the shop where I bought the Laptop a year ago.

Thanks anyway for your kind help, you really are great!
