Touchpad is not working in the installation process

Plug in external USB mouse works

Latest BIOS used. Looks like BIOS bug.

Is Windows10 OS still on the internal drive? Did you enable Touchpad in Windows11? How did you install W11 on the external USB drive, maybe it did not install correctly. Latest BIOS version is 1.27 from last month.

Check in BIOS if Touchpad is set to 12C HID, if PS/2 change that to 12C HID and save changes on exit BIOS. Check Device Manager if 12C HID is present in Human interface Devices.

I have the same issues, connected external USB mouse & Keyboard during initial setup. Once Windows 11 is setup, make sure:

Install relevant Drivers form Acer Support site - https://www.acer.com/us-en/support/drivers-and-manuals

Check Physical Button Available on the Laptop Keyboard/Functions Keys/Media Keys for Enabling/Disabling Features Keys

Check BIOS for correct settings for related device

Download and Installed related utility Apps from Acer Support site and make sure configured correctly.

If any steps FIX the problem, please let others to resolve their issues. Thanks!

I reinstalled Win 11 insider Enterprise instead of insider Home as above and did not encounter this issue anymore. The Enterprise was a much later version though . I did not change anything to the BIOS setup.

For the issue above, I believe I fixed his by installing "Device Enabling Service Driver" using an external mouse. But not everyone may still have such mouse. The archive of outdated hardware came as the rescue.. :-)
