Hello, dear Acer Forum!

I noticed that my Acer notebook cannot be put into standby mode properly. Namely, if you press the standby button, I go to the lockscreen and not into standby mode. (See picture 1)

This happens immediately when I close the notebook lid. (lockscreen)

All my Windows settings are set to default. (See

picture 3)

What's the problem?

And where is the physical standby button on this device?

I would be very happy to hear your suggestions and tips :-)

Picture 3 was not attached. The Power menu you are showing is from Windows10, this is a Windows11 machine did you downgrade to W10? MS recommends disabling Hibernate and Fast Startup for Windows and reset the Power Plan in Edit Power Plan. To put the system in Sleep mode (S3) briefly press the power key after you have reset the power plan to factory defaults. Not sure what you mean by "Stand-By" button, check the user manual what these function keys do as every laptop has different key functions, you may be pressing the logout/change user button.

No, of course I didn't downgrade Windows. The »Control Panel« can be accessed under WIN11:

This is what the “stand-by” button looked like in the previous Acer Aspire model:

I tried your tips, unfortunately they didn't work :-(
