Aspire 5 Will Not Wake Up with the keyboard or mouse after being put to sleep

If the laptop goes to sleep on its own then the mouse will wake the laptop. In the forced sleep mode I have to hold the "Power" button for over 10 seconds then the laptop will wake up.

Be aware that Sleep mode will switch to Hibernate mode after some time in Modern Standby (the new Sleep mode in Windows). MS recommends disabling Hibernate and Fast Startup. Reset BIOS to factory defaults with F9 in BIOS and save changes on exit. Reset your Power Plan to factory defaults and paste these 2 commands online in the Command Prompt opened as administrator as you may have corrupted some system files by pressing the Power Button: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter. Then this: SFC /scannow and press Enter. Repeat the SFC command till you get "…..did not find any integrity violations".

If you are putting your latop into sleep mode by closing the lid the laptop will go into sleep mode, then progress to the hibernate mode, that takes pressing the power key a few times to wake the laptop up from hibernate mode and get the login screen.

What I do is whenever I put my Nitro 5 into sleep mode, is I do the following, go to the Win icon in task bar > power icon > Sleep (see caption below) as then the laptop will go into sleep mode and will not go into hibernate mode, as and afterwards, and whenever I open the lid, the login screen appears automatically so that I can login and use my laptop, as that is how you should put your laptop into sleep mode.
