Disconnect the power adapter. At the back of the laptop insert a pin in the small pinhole at the right side in the middle that has a tiny battery sign. Gently push the pin vertically down till you feel a click (microswitch) and keep pressing for 5 seconds or more. This will reset the battery.

In addition, and if the battery reset pinhole doesn't reset the laptop then send your laptop to Acer Tech Support and don't open the laptop as the laptop has either a faulty EC chip that is frozen (which needs a Hard Reset that entails opening the laptop) or a main power rail failure that you need Acer to diagnose and fix. Good luck.

If this doesn't work for anybody then what you need to do is unplug anything you have plugged into it USB charger whatever you need to flip it over press that reset button or what I did is I just took the back off of it because the CMOS battery just unplugs it's not soldered it unplugs it's not a regular watch battery but you can unplug it and then you can unplug the regular battery let that set for 10 minutes to 15 minutes or even longer if you want to have it reset then plug everything back in starting with the big battery first the main battery plug it in then plug the CMOS battery in put it all back together flip it over press control alt delete and hold that for I don't know a minute you'll see the keyboard flash what's the keyboard flashes let it off plug the charger in do not touch it until the blue light comes on you have done let it drain all the way out it is in hibernation mode trust me I had this happen I tried everything everybody did until I seen one Acer certified technician said press control alt delete and hold it that's after you pull the batteries out so do that it'll turn on trust me I was worried I lost mine I turned it off with to turn it back on it did not work so and sometimes I guess this will happen if it dies and you have a USB connected and you disconnect it and try to turn it on it's like a security feature I guess I don't know these acers are weird just like if you lose Windows you cannot make an installation disk you can but you also have to go to the Acer website download the iot driver that is the driver that detects the hard drive you must have that in order to reinstall Windows if you have a data failure.
