What (upgrade) CPU cooler fits PO5-650 with 13700f best

Member Posts: 3 New User

Recently we bought a PREDATOR PO5-650 I7416g. The temperature of the cpu rises frequently above 90.

I hope i can lower this by replacing the stock CPU cooler.

Some option i consider:

  • deepcool aka620
  • noctua NH U12 s
  • NH D12L

My questions:

  • is replacing the cpu cooler enough or does is require replacement of case coolers also?
  • are these good options (do they fit, are the adequate), and which one is best?
  • are there better options in the same price range?

Greetz,

Eric

The Noctua NH-U12S is the cooler of choice for most people here. It's got a good track record of working well with the Predator PO5 and PO7 models (The PO3 models want the smaller version). It typically gives 15-20C better cooling than the stock unit. Another nice thing about the Noctua design is that you don't have to pull the motherboard and remove the back plate, just get some slightly different sized screws and use the stock backplate. There are lots of threads on them here.

get the Noctua NH-U12A it's the largest Noctua that will fit in that case and it's the only 12 series that's dual fan.

i have it in mine and it's amazing trust me on this.

Due to the Predator PO5-650 being a new desktop you need to measure your internal spaces around the cpu to the ram modules clearances and see which of these cpu coolers fit. Both the Deepcool and the Noctua models cpu cooler have their measurements specified, so get those measurements and see which is the most appropriate. As far as cpu cooling efficiency the Nocua cpu cooler are very good and are the best on the market.

You need to measure the gap between the cpu and ram space on your PO5-650 desktops and see the appropriate cpu cooler that fits and is appropriate for your desktop.

    Thanks for the replies!

I ordered both the U12a and the U12s. If the U12a fits, i will use that one and the other goes back to the shop. If its to big the u12s will be the one to install..
