Hello

I've recently bought a budget laptop called Aspire a315-23-r3pe which hurts my eyes really badly, the screen looks as if it is stained or something and just 5 minutes of using it is hell for me and it's only this laptop, I haven't used it for months as I am unable to return it. What to do? Should I replace the screen? Or buy anything that could help.

You probably get adjusted after sometime of using. Make sure brightness level is accepted, taking frequent rest from screen time, gpu Driver is updated so that you get highest resolution, etc.

If that still not fix then you can buy external monitor which can be connected to your laptop using HDMI Port. Some external monitor are inbuilt with eye care feature.

Before buying monitor from another company or from acer make sure it is eyecare certified and you must watch other review and video review from youtube.

    Thanks for the replies

I've already tried everything from reinstalling drivers several times, tweaking blue light emission from windows and changing brightness either from the laptop itself or using warmer colors from a software, the monitor itself is pretty bad and I wish to take this laptop with me when I'm out so I wonder if there is any accessories that can help with this issue or where I could find the spec sheet of the laptop so I can replace the screen for a better one.

It is the way they produce the displays nowadays. The new mac computers are even worse. Like staring directly towards the sun. I also have an acer now (swift go pro 14 series) and I experience eye strain too. They got rid of glass and this created problems with the brightness that comes from the light panels, I guess. The glass protects the eye. I have close to zero issues with my old macbook pro 2011. It is criminal what the computer industry is doing these days. They are literally blinding us. I tried a good screen filter with uv and blue-light protection (nusign +). You can get them from amazon. It is a suspended acrylic. It helps a bit reducing the eye strain from this terrible brightness but not completely…
