no identifying marks other than "italy" and about 12" diagonal measure screen (10" x 7.5" notebook/laptop) … I have a standard size acer laptop and this unidentified model/

unit has a smaller power adapter port.

Acer laptop should have a sicker that has all the details of the model/sN and SNID numbers stuck on the underneath of the laptop. If you dont have that sticker a 10" Acer laptop like that is in the Acer Aspire One range which means nothing. try to boot the laptop and press F2 so that you can get into the bios, once you are in the bios all the laptops ID information is listed in the main bios section. If you can't get into the bios, then you need to open the laptops back cover and try to get the mainboard information numbers and look up those reference number on the web to get the laptops information. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thanks StevenGen, was my thought too (opening it up to see what I could find out) .. turns out it has some QR codes and I was able to read one. It is an acer aspire switch 10 (sw5-012). Will be interesting to see if it works after I get the power adapter.
