have a nitro 5, that won’t start. Press the power button the backlight on the key comes on and the fans start, then it shuts down. Have press the power button for 30-60 seconds and waiting a number of minutes to try again, plus all cables are disconnected, still won’t start. Have reconnected cables and tried the same as above, but still won’t start. Eventually it will start but could be 24 hours later and is ok for 7-10 days and have the same issue again. Took it to a pc repair place who replaced the battery but that didn’t help either.

Can anyone provide suggestions on how to resolve? Thanks.

It seems like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your Nitro 5 laptop. Based on your description, it sounds like there may be a hardware or power-related issue causing the problem. Here are a few suggestions to try and resolve the issue:

    1. Check the Power Adapter: Make sure the power adapter is functioning properly and providing enough power to the laptop. Try using a different power adapter to see if that resolves the issue.
    2. Reset the Power: Disconnect the power adapter and remove the laptop's battery (if possible). Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to discharge any residual power. Then, reinsert the battery (if removed) and reconnect the power adapter.
    3. Check for Overheating: Overheating can sometimes cause laptops to shut down unexpectedly. Make sure the laptop's vents are clear of dust and debris, and consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat.
    4. Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware or drivers can cause compatibility issues that lead to startup problems.
    5. Perform a Hardware Diagnostic: Most laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues. Check your laptop's user manual or manufacturer's website for instructions on how to run a hardware diagnostic.
    6. Seek Professional Help: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be time to seek professional help from a certified technician or the laptop's manufacturer. They can diagnose the problem more accurately and recommend appropriate solutions.

By following these steps, you may be able to identify and resolve the issue preventing your Nitro 5 from starting properly. Good luck!

Try this: Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black under the battery) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Unseat the firmly secure the 2 RAM modules in the 2 slots. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.

Is the charging stuff working as expected? So, you plug in the power and the battery status light comes on amber, then switches to blue when the battery is fully charged? Your Nitro AN515-43 doesn't have a traditional CMOS battery like @Puraw describes. Instead there is a clear CMOS jumper under the memory slot:

More often than not a CMOS clear or reset will fix an issue where POST doesn't start.

when I plug in the power, the light is amber and then turns to blue when fully charged. The laptops has restarted on its own, but I know I will have the same issue again as it repeats itself.

will try the from the various responses, thanks all so far for your updates.
