Recently, I tried resolving an audio issue on my Acer device. Unfortunately, I accidentally installed the wrong and incompatible driver and it gave me an error. After that, all audio from my computer stopped working. I've tried installing the updated realtek drivers that is recommended for my device through searching the drivers list on acer.com, however, installing them did not help. I did notice that plugging in new devices into the computer makes the sound work on them, but not on my old headphones that I've used the entire time. Can someone help?

Don't install any drivers but let Windows find the best audio driver. Stay online and update Windows for Windows11 that should be 23H2 build 22631.3296. Download and install DDU freeware from Wagnardsoft.com and boot to Safe Mode, uninstall the Realtek audio drivers with DDU and just reboot. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html The RTK Audio Console ("Control") installs best from the Windows Store. Note that some 3.5mm plugs are not detected by RTK/Windows sound, if you don't get the popup when inserting the plug in the audio port "What audio device" try another headset or speakers, you have to repeat your device selection in the RTK Audio Console (Speakers) for older versions,

I don't know which laptop model you have but the audio in certain laptops is not only governed by the Realtek audio driver as there are other drivers that affect audio also and that could be what is happening with your laptop. Below is an example of the audio list from a Nitro gaming laptop that has an Intel cpu and a NVidia gpu and Realtek ALC295 Audio Controller, and as you can see that the drivers are governed by certain other audio drivers from Intel and NVidia audio, so you need to make sure that all these drivers are properly installed, as that is when your audio will work 100%.

Intel® Driver & Support Assistant audio and what this Intel scan updates, so install this software and see if this will solve your audio problem.

For more context. All of my devices I plug in my computer that uses the Realtek Drivers do not work. How would I go about fixing this?

I am using the Nitro AN515-56
Would I need to install the Realtek HD Audio drivers for my computer and if so, where do I find them? I previously only installed the Realtek Audio Drivers.

There are two parts to the audio drivers on Acer's support site.

Download both, install the driver first and the console second. Remove the device that's not working from the list of output devices and reconnect it and it should ask again what type of device it is.
