After my Acer ANV15-51 goes to sleep, we cannot open it back up.

After my Acer ANV15-51 goes to sleep, we cannot open it back up. The keyboard lights, but we need to wait 4-5 minutes for it to display a picture.

    MS recommends disabling Hibernate and Fast Startup for this reason. The system switches automatically to Hibernate after a few hours in Sleep mode. If you are using Acer's custom Power Plan change that to Windows default Power Plans, if you don't see the Windows default plans you have to unhide the power plans: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/restore-missing-power-plans-in-windows-11.6898/ Also reset BIOS with F9 (in BIOS) and save settings, check for Windows updates, the current version is W11 23H2 build 22631.3296

    Update windows to 23H2 & disabling Hibernate and Fast Startup.

    There is something amiss in your Windows registry, did you reset BIOS with F9 in BIOS and saved settings before exit Bios?

    Now it works, but when we put the computer to sleep and turn it back on, the brightness is very low. We have to wait 5-6 minutes for it to return to normal.

    Boot to Safe Mode, in Windows keep the shift key down while you Restart (click on Start-Power icon- Restart) and put the laptop in sleep mode then wake and see if the brightness comes up immediately 100%, note that brightness is linked to Power Plan-Battery saver but not in Safe Mode. If you have no issues in Safe Mode, you need to uninstall the display drivers in Safe Mode with DDU. If the same wake from sleep issue happens in Safe mode, there is one more thing you can try. Boot to Windows and go online, open the command prompt as administrator and paste this command: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter, then paste this in the command prompt: SFC /scannow and press the Enter key. Repeat SFC till it ends with "…did not find any integrity violations". If none of this helps you have a corrupted Registry and need to Reset this PC either without losing your files (try that first) or with losing your files (complete OS reset). If still no results you may have a hardware problem, eDP/LCD cable or the screen.

    While encountering a dim display problem, I tried connecting to a monitor via HDMI and saw that it worked normally. Could this be due to a hardware problem?

    Yes, like I mentioned, the eDP-LCD cable may be pinched or partly unplugged, bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check the connections and the screen.

    Yes, I recommend that you bring the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check the dimming issue. Include the power adapter.

    Hi, I have the same problem. The thing is - laptop is working properly but display is dimmed for a few more minutes (if you point a lamp to display you can see screen). And I tried with power plan settings, with power troubleshot, disable driver, uninstall and install driver, turn off fast startup and nothing has changed. And when laptop is in hibernate mode display works properly.

    When was the last time it was working fine.

    Try windows x
    click on power shell admin or command prompt admin or terminal admin
    type rstrui
    chose an earlier date on which your computer was working fine  
    click on next, finish, yes
    It will restore your computer to an earlier date 
    if you get an message - system restore not completed - click on close 
    It will show you all the icons..
    Try and check whether it is working now ..

    If it is still not working, we need to determine whether this is a hardware or software issue. Let us try to reinstall windows. Even after reinstalling windows if you still face the same issue, then it might be a hardware issue.

    If it is still not working then we have to do a refresh and reset

    click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started 

    or 

    on start - type here to search - type reset this pc - click on reset this pc on the top  - click on get started 

    or

    Try windows + r using keyboard
    on run window - type systemreset

    It will show you keep my files and remove everything
    chose keep my files 
    chose the account - type the password - click on local reinstall - click on reset 
    It will be in progress.. 
    login to computer and start using the computer. 
    If it is still not working 

    click on start - settings - update and security - recovery - reset this pc - get started 
    chose remove everything 
    click on local reinstall - just remove my files - click on reset
    It will be in progress

    Note:

    If you do refresh ( keep my files ) -  all your personal files like pictures, music , documents , videos  will still be intact.   Only the applications will be lost

    If you do reset  ( remove everything )  - you are doing a factory default.   It will become like a day one computer.    It will wipe out everything and take your computer to day one like a new computer. 

    You can also do the recovery in an alternative way..

    There are two alt keys on the keyboard.  If you look at the bottom row of keyboard you can see the one on the left side of space bar and the other on the right side of space bar.  The alt key on the right side will be looking like alt, alt gr or alt car.  Turn off the computer.  Hold the alt key on the left and tap f10 continuously.   It will go to repair mode. It will show you chose an option, continue, troubleshoot.   If it is not going to repair mode, turn off the computer.  Turn on the computer.  Hold the right alt key ( alt gr or alt car or alt )  and then tap f10 continuously.  It will go to chose an option continue and troubleshoot..

    It will show you chose an option, continue, troubleshoot
    Go to troubleshoot  -  click on reset this pc
    click on keep my files  ( only applications will be lost )   chose your account and type your password   - click on local reinstall  - click on reset
    It will be in progress 

    If the keep my files option is not working 

    Go to troubleshoot  -  click on reset this pc – click on remove everything – click on local reinstall – just remove my files – click on reset 
    It will reinstall windows. 

    If the just remove my files is not working..

    Go to troubleshoot  -  click on reset this pc – click on remove everything – click on local reinstall – Fully clean the drive – click on reset 
    It will reinstall windows. 

    Note: You can also go to chose an option , continue , troubleshoot by holding the alt key + tapping f10  or alt gr + tapping f10 on the keyboard while turning on the computer.    Once you see the troubleshoot option, you can stop tapping the f10 and stop holding the alt key.    Then you can try the keep my files and remove everything ( just remove by files and fully clean the drive ) by following the steps which was mentioned above.
