Brand New chromebook. The touchpad worked fine for a couple day on my husband's Chromebook. Now it doesn't work at all, but will with a mouse.

Which Chromebook model do you have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. Some of them have a key combo to turn on and off the touchpad…

    Hello maximtimeclock@jack_31,

It seems you’re facing an issue with the touchpad on a new Chromebook. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Clean the Touchpad Ensure there’s no dust or dirt on the touchpad.
Restart the Chromebook Turn it off and then back on again.
Hard Reset Perform a hard reset by pressing and holding down the refresh and power buttons.
Check Settings Verify that the touchpad is enabled in your Chromebook’s settings.
Update the System Ensure your Chromebook is updated to the latest version.
External Mouse Since it works with an external mouse, use it while you troubleshoot the touchpad issue.
Factory Reset If none of the above works, consider doing a factory reset as a last resort.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be a hardware problem, and you may need to contact Acer support or the retailer where the Chromebook was purchased for further assistance. Remember to back up any important data before performing a factory reset.

    Good luck!
