No bootable device after installing Intel Optane Memory in Acer Swift 5

Hello all,

I have Acer Swift 5 with default M2 SSD installed. I bought Intel Optane memory and wanted to give it a try. As there is a single M2 port, I replaced the SSD with Optane (while replacing I did not turn the PC off as I was testing the fan and the keyboard backlit).

After the installation I turned on the PC and tried but, I got "No Bootable Device". I replaced the Optane with SSD and turned it on again but, I got the same error message "No Bootable Device". I checked the BIOS settings however, I could not see the SSD or any drive except the ones that I connected externally - bootable USB & external HDD.

The accepted solution by many on the internet is changing BIOS mode from UEFI to Legacy (even though not the recommended one) however, according to many it worked! I am not able to change the mode as it is disabled in my BIOS.

I turned the PC off and tried reconnecting and replacing the SSD, booting from USB, and tried to repair but, but nothing worked.

I am afraid that I damaged my SSD or the M2 port due to replacing and changing the SSD & Optane while the power is on. Any suggestions?
