I currently have an Intel Core i5-7400 CPU

I am not sure where or how to find out any model number or the like for my motherboard.

I am looking to upgrade to an i7 or better.

Is there a website or something that I can use to find out what kind of CPU's are compatible with my motherboard and where do I need to look to find out

The Predator G3-710 desktop was released with a B150 chipset mainboard that also had an i7-7700K cpu, so all you need to do is get onto eBay or search the web and buy a new i7-7700K cpu and upgrade your mainboard to this new cpu.

Afterwards, take the side cover of your desktop off, unclip the cpu socket on your mainboard, and insert this new i7-7700K cpu into your G3-710 desktop, I would also recommend that you update the bios to this desktop last version R02-B2 and also increase the ram to this desktop max 64GB (using four 16GB modules) of either DDR4-2400MHz or DDR4-2666MHz type ram. I also suggest that you go to Crucial Ram site and do their RAM & SSD Upgrades system scan as that will tell you the exact upgrade for your model Predator G3-710 desktop. As doing all these upgrades to your desktop will increase the performance by at least 100%+++, good luck and hope this helps you out.

Just be aware that a CPU upgrade is typically the last upgrade to try to increase system performance… Make sure you are already booting on a SSD, have a decent amount of memory (64GB isn't required, 32GB is plenty, and 16GB is workable) and you have a relatively current GPU before deciding to go for the minimal increase a CPU will give you.
